Data Engineering Foundations
Students design and implement scalable database solutions across relational and alternative paradigms (document, semantic), and build robust data pipelines for ETL processes, applying best practices in data governance, security, and environmental considerations.
The course project has students design an end-to-end ELT pipeline, including data transformation, quality validation, vector database deployment for RAG systems, and CI/CD implementation.

Professor (Directeur d’études)
Laurent BRISSON is Professor (Directeur d’études) at IMT Atlantique, where he serves as Deputy of Teaching for the Data Science department and Head of the Data Science Program. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Nice Sophia-Antipolis (France) in 2006. His research focuses on complex networks and community dynamics in temporal graphs, with applications to computational social science and, more recently, to AI agents for education.
