Data Storytelling

A course on the ability to visualize data and create narratives with it, to transform data into actionable information that supports decision-making. The curriculum, primarily based on Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic’s Storytelling with Data: A Data Visualization Guide for Business Professionals (Wiley, 2015), covers the importance of context, choosing an effective visual, eliminating clutter, focusing audience attention, and design thinking and storytelling techniques.

Laurent BRISSON is Professor (Directeur d’études) at IMT Atlantique, where he serves as Deputy of Teaching for the Data Science department and Head of the Data Science Program. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Nice Sophia-Antipolis (France) in 2006. His research focuses on complex networks and community dynamics in temporal graphs, with applications to computational social science and, more recently, to AI agents for education.
