A five-session introduction to database management systems, for students on systems engineering, application development, and database specialist tracks: relational model and data integrity, advanced SQL queries and security (via a gamified escape-game session), functional dependencies and normalization theory, conceptual modeling with UML, and object-oriented persistence programming interfaces.

Laurent BRISSON is Professor (Directeur d’études) at IMT Atlantique, where he serves as Deputy of Teaching for the Data Science department and Head of the Data Science Program. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Nice Sophia-Antipolis (France) in 2006. His research focuses on complex networks and community dynamics in temporal graphs, with applications to computational social science and, more recently, to AI agents for education.
